Recalling Health to the Spirit Essentials
Right of God: If you are financially well-to-do, i.e. have more wealth than you need, you must purify your wealth by giving a percentage of all income above your necessary expenses and obligations, as this overage represents the “Right of God”. Give Him back His share so that He may use these funds to prosper the land and its people in His wisdom.
Tithing: give a percentage of your earnings to the church or charity of your choice, and be sacrificial in your giving. By giving we attract the many gifts that God has reserved for those who expend their wealth in His path.
Teaching: teach and proclaim the Message of your Faith. If you receive solace, peace, comfort and joy from knowing that God is in control of all things, why not share it with others? God has prescribed unto everyone the duty of proclaiming the Message. This gift of sharing draws to us the grace of God, and it should be the dominating passion of our lives. All must participate however limited their means, education, cares and preoccupation or environment.
Acknowledge the Unity of Mankind: God is one, and man is one created in the image of God. God is one as proclaimed by all the Prophets of God, beginning with Abraham.
Love One Another: Know that love is the glue that holds the world together. Spread yours around. There is no scarcity with this virtue. In fact, the paradox is that the more you give away, the more you get back in return.
Know Your Purpose in Life: having a purpose gives us direction and focus as we make choices each day of our lives. It helps us decide what is worth pursuing and what we need to let go of in order to meet a goal or to fulfill our destiny. If you haven’t already figured out the purpose of your life, here’s a noon day prayer which might help you.
“I bear witness, O my God, that Thou hast created me to know Thee and to worship Thee. I testify, at this moment, to my powerlessness and to Thy might, to my poverty and to Thy wealth. There is none other God but Thee, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting” – Bahá'í Faith
